• Our hope-filled future is bound up in sharing the story of Jesus, in discipling others, in bringing those disciples together into communities of believers, and in developing and releasing those believers to create other communities... till Jesus the King comes again!

Generosity from within

It is often said that “the resources are in the harvest”.  By that we mean that the resources to promote and further the work and ministry of disciples and communities of believers in a given people group are present in that very people group.  Funding and resources from the outside should not be the first recourse.

The video below is one example of how this very principle worked itself out in a given situation in one African nation.

  1. Thanks David. This is a great example of the general principle that God gives every people group in every place the resources they need to flourish, though oppression and faulting thinking still can stand in the way.

  2. I forwarded this to a team preparing to work in Cameroon with outreach to refugee camps. If we are not careful, our compassion or pride can lead us to act as messianic agents focusing on us and our capacities instead of being transformational agents getting people to focus on God.

  3. I like the idea of this video as a model for the resources that will be needed in a multiplication movement.

  4. I think this is the hardest part as our hearts ‘go out’ to others wanting to help them, but as I said sometimes that help can actually hurt their further growth and development.
